YCS/YSM Cluster Meet II

'The Village Exposure Tour'

The Young Students Movement (YSM) – Goa Region, led by the Diocesan Youth Centre (DYC–Goa), organized ‘Cluster Meet II: Village Exposure Tour’ for its member students from North and South Goa schools on 08th January 2026 at Curtorim Village. 47 student and 16 teachers participated for this program.

The Village Exposure Tour provided students with an on-field experience of the rich culture and historical heritage of the village of Curtorim through an input session on agricultural and biodiversity of the village by Mr. Mariano Almeida and Mr. Santan Rodrigues. Mr. Joao Manuel Fernandes, spoke on the heritage of ‘Handi Khuris’ and showed paddy field transplantation carried out both by hand and by machine. Fr. Blaise gave a brief tour around the historical Arch of Rachol, followed by a guided tour of Rachol Seminary. Mr. Avelino Silveira, a professional toddy tapper, demonstrated the art of coconut palm weaving. 

This full day program of the Village Exposure Tour was coordinated by the DYC Animation Team that kept the students’ energy levels high through action songs and games throughout the day.
