YOUTH FORCE 2023 The Diocesan Youth Centre – Goa organised an event called ‘Youth Force’ which focuses on spreading awareness about social and environmental issues of our society and to make youth sensitive of their social duties and responsibilities. This year, the Youth Force was held on 23rd- 24th September 2024 with the theme “Save Water Save Earth.” The event was inclusive of interactive animations and coordination by the DYC Executive team, and also an enlightening session on “Street Plays” which is a strong medium to spread awareness on social issues, presented by Ms. Sendra Pereira, Ms. Amreen Shaikh and Ms. Astrid Pereira from the NGO ‘Uzwadd- The Rays of Hope’. The participants engaged in performing various street plays on the topics like Road Safety, Child Labour, Youth Unemployment and so on. The program also included Eucharistic Celebration followed by a Field Trip guided by Mrs. Tallulah D’Silva on sensitivity towards Natural Springs with practical demonstration at a Spring in Old Goa which is a natural habitat of endangered species of Birds and animals. It was followed by witnessing Khazan Lands in Patto Panjim and its importance to our environment. The Field Trip concluded at Miramar Beach with an insightful session by Mr. Samuel Afonso on Rivers of Goa- mainly River Sal and River Khushavati, with its bio-diversity and depletion of endangered species. The Trip ended with fun games at the beach and concluding insights given by Fr. Blaise, DYC Director.
