DIOCESAN YOUTH CENTRE

Vision:-
To animate the youth to be integrated in and to live for the communication Church founded upon Christ and to reach out to build God’s Kingdom.

Thrust:-

• Formation: to learn and pray together.
• Fellowship: to live and celebrate together.
• Service: to work and build together.

Aims and Objectives:- 

• To form the youth in Gospel values and to help them discover and live their mission in the Church and in the Society.
• To provide formation opportunities to the rural, illiterate, working youth and dropouts.
• To promote mutual exchange of faith experience, talents, understanding among Parish Youth Groups and other Christian Youth Associations/Movements.
• To train animators for Youth Ministry.
• To establish Youth groups in Parishes and to animate the existing ones.
• To bring about co-ordination among various Christian Youth Movements and other Bodies working at Diocesan, National and International Levels.
• To welcome youth of other faiths for formation programmes in order to foster human communities.

The Diocesan Youth Centre was officially established at Lar de Estudantes, Altinho in the year 1988   and from the year 1991 a director for the centre was appointed. The following is the list of the director’s till date.

• 1991-1995 Fr.Olavo Velho Pereira
• 1996-2004 Fr.Lucio Dias
• 2005-2012 Fr.Olavo Caiado
• 2013-2023 Fr. Savio D’souza
• 2023- till date  Fr. Blaise Lobo
